Beaver Valley Rec: Kick off spring with karate

Up and coming recreation events going on in Beaver Valley.

The Fruitvale Fire Fighters Non-profit Society is hosting the fourth annual Beaver Valley Easter Egg Hunt at Haines Park in Fruitvale on Friday at 11a.m. Enjoys hot dogs and hot chocolate by donation and 7,000 chocolate eggs will cover the field for three different age categories: zero-to-three, four-to-seven, and eight-to-12. We will have allergy friendly chocolate eggs for hunters who can exchange their gathered eggs for peanut-free chocolate and treats at one of the fire trucks.

Zumbatomic is a specially designed Zumba class for kids.  The two Zumbatomic age groups are Little Starz age four to seven, and Big Starz eight to 12.  The next session runs Apr. 8 - May 13 at the Fruitvale Hall from 3-3:30 p.m. (Little Starz $30) and 3:45-4:30 p.m. (Big Starz $36).

Babysitting Course with Amanda Harding, will be offered on Monday and Wednesday, Apr. 8 and 10 from 2:30–6:30 pm at the Fruitvale Elementary School Library. Cost is $65 per child.  Minimum age is 11 years old. Please bring a bagged dinner.

Food Safe, instructed by Geoff Tellier, will be held on Apr. 13, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. in the Club Room at the Fruitvale Memorial Hall. Cost is $70.

Chito-Ryu Karate classes, instructed by Sensei Scott Hutcheson goes 4-5 p.m. on Mondays and Wednesdays, Apr. 3, 8, 10, 29 at Fruitvale Elementary gym and Tuesdays and Thursdays, Apr. 18, 23, 25 at the Fruitvale Hall. The instructor is a registered certified Black Belt with NCCP coaching and a member of KarateBC and SportBC.

Zumba - Dates and times: Monday at the Fruitvale Hall from 9:30-10:30 a.m. and 7–8 p.m., Tuesday at the Fruitvale Hall from 9:30 – 10:30 a.m., and Thursday at the Montrose Hall from 7–8 p.m.
