Bronze medals for local bowlers

Local bowlers brought home a pair of bronze medals from the Bowl BC provincial championships held on Saturday in Kamloops.

Three teams and two singles’ players took part in the event, which attracted over 250 participants from around the province.

For the second consecutive year, Curtis Flack is wearing a bronze medal after competing in the senior boys’ singles division.

Flack rolled an 1128 total in five games to finish third overall, just 19 pins from the silver medal.

The junior boys team out of the Glenmerry Bowl also picked up its second consecutive medal.

The team of Cole Thatcher, Dakota Campbell, Jacob Plett and Gabby Moreau finished third in its division with a 2815 total in four games. That result left them only 24 pins from the second-place team from Nanaimo.

Plett and Moreau were part of the silver-medal winning team at last year’s provincials.

Other results saw Thomas Plett finish fifth in the bantam boys’ singles. The senior girls’ team was fourth while the senior boys’ fifth.

The gold-medal winners will represent B.C. at the nationals set for May in Saskatchewan.
