The Grand Forks Border Bruins fired their head coach and general manager last week.

Brent Batten was relieved of his head coaching and GM duties on Wednesday night after going 0-21 this season.

According to Bruins President Ward Faust, Assistant Coach Matt Zamec will serve as interim head coach until a replacement is found but there is no timetable for  replacing the head coach.

Battens was appointed head coach and GM in May replacing Jesse Dorrans  who was let go with nine games remaining in the 2010/11 season.

The Border Bruins are currently last in the Neil Murdoch division, the only winless team in KIJHL this year.
