Residents have only a few days remaining to take advantage of Black Jack Ski Club’s early-bird membership draw.

“We’re on the homestretch of our membership drive,” said Black Jack spokesman Wannes Lupens. “So far we have 527 members with just a few days to go before the Dec. 1 early-bird deadline.”

Black Jack is also celebrating its 30th season, and are encouraging all rookie and veteran cross-country skiers to sign up before Saturday in order to cash in on some exciting prizes.

Those who get their Black Jack pass to over 40-kilometres of groomed trails will be entered in a draw for a season’s pass at Red Mountain, a free day of Big Red Cat-skiing, a night at Fairmont Waterfront Vancouver, a night at the Prestige Lakeside Resort in Nelson, and more.

Black Jack also offers numerous ski programs including Bunnies and Jack Rabbits for kids ages four to 11, the cross-country ski-racing team, the Black Jack Nordic Academy, and biathlon that combines cross-country skiing and target shooting.

Grooming has begun and the trails should be in full swing this weekend, said Lupens.
