Kissock gets first start in over two years

In his first start in over two seasons, Chris Kissock certainly gave his team a chance to win.

The Fruitvale pitcher allowed just four hits and two runs in six innings but that was all the Portland Sea Dogs needed as they blanked the Reading Phillies 2-0 Sunday afternoon in Maine.

Kissock, who has been used as a relief pitcher since the 2008 season, was moved into the Phillies starting rotation for the 2011 Eastern League season.

He walked two and struck out two as Reading’s record fell to 2-2.

The team is in New Hampshire today and will host Akron in its home opener on Thursday.
