Kootenay Savings Super League prepares for big finish

Kootenay Savings Super League will be wrapping up its season Thursday, January 12, 2012 with a one game playoff.

Another season of  Kootenay Savings Super League throws its last rocks this Thursday as the eight rinks wrap up with a one-game playoff.

In the final round-robin games of the year, the Rob Ferguson rink locked up first place with an 8-1 victory over Desiree Schmidt and her Ladies rink from Fruitvale. Ferguson ran their record to 14-1 with the win on Thursday.

Brad Morehouse and the young guns from Castlegar finished the year with their second straight win, this time defeating Russ Beauchamp and his Maglio Men’s team 9-4.

Morehouse built an early 6-0 lead after four ends to secure the win.

Myron Nichol and his West Kootenay Mechanical foursome were down 4-3 without last rock to Ken Fines, when Nichol made a great raise tap back to steal 5 points. Nichol stole three more in the sixth frame to force an early finish to this match. Make the final 11-4.

Rose Beauchamp and her ladies rink prepared for the Senior Women’s Zone Playdowns on the week-end, by upending Fred Thomson and his 5N-Plus squad 7-4. Beauchamp made several nice draws to seal the deal.

The League will wrap up this Thursday with the usual one game playoff. Format will be 1 vs 2, 3 vs 4, 5 vs 6, and 7 vs 8.
