Tyler McKay posted another solid weekend on the Maple Leaf Junior Golf Tour.
The Rossland-Trail Country Club member joined 77 other golfers at the Morgan Creek Golf Club in Surrey for the latest stop on the national junior tour.
The 15-year-old McKay opened with a round of 72 on Saturday and was tied for fifth after the first round.
Sunday, he carded a 76 to finish tied for seventh, 10 strokes behind winner Kevin Vigna of Coquitlam in the boys’ 14-to-16-year-old age group.
McKay was fifth last week in the tour’s first event in Richmond.
Two other West Kootenay players took part – Jordon Hoodikoff of Grand Forks and Tanner Kopan of Christina Lake.
Hoodikoff finished 17th and Kopan was 20th in the boys’ 17-to-19 age group.
The Zone 1 West junior golf circuit kicks off April 23 in Balfour.
