The Beaver Valley Nitehawks are rolling right along as they returned from a successful road trip on the weekend.

After dropping a pair of games to Castlegar and Creston last week, the Nitehawks got back on track with a 14-2 thumping of Grand Forks on Thursday and followed that up with a pair of wins in Penticton and Princeton.

Led by league leading scoring line of Craig Martin, Chris Derochie and Ryan Edwards, the Nitehawks came back from a 2-1 deficit in the first to skate to a 6-4 victory over the Princeton Posse Saturday.

The Hawks roared back by scoring three in the second period but Princeton wouldn’t give up. After the Hawks went up 5-2 in the third, the Posse replied with two quick goals to narrow the score to one in a penalty filled third period.

However defenseman Derek Laschuk would put it out of reach with a power-play goal with just over two minutes left.

The line of Derochie, Martin and Edwards picked up eight points with Martin netting two goals and one helper, while Edwards pitched in three assists and Derochie two goals. Nitehawks goaltender Mike Vlanich stopped 24 of 28 shots for the win.

In Friday’s game against Penticton, Max Flanagan and Dallas Calvin each had thrree-point nights, picking up a goal and two assists while Tyler Collins potted two of his own to lead the Hawks to a 6-3 win.
