The Trail Orioles continued their Pacific International League action on the weekend, in a three-game series with the Vernon Diamondbacks.

The O’s swept the series winning a pair on Saturday, 2-1 and 10-0 before going on to a 4-3 victory on Sunday.

The Orioles travel to the Pacific Northwest this weekend to hook up with the Northwest Honkers out of Bellevue, Wash. and then the Seattle Studs.

The O’s took one game in a four game series against the Honkers at Butler Park last month. Player/manager Jim Maniago says the O’s are solid defensively but need to work on their hitting in order to compete with slugging teams like the Honkers and the Studs.

The Seattle Studs are similar to the Honkers, a good hitting team that won the Grand Forks International tournament last September.
