After a week layoff due to some ice-plant issues it was back to curling for the Trail Retirees at the Trail Curling Arena Monday.

Some teams picked up just where they left off, others struggled as big wins highlighted the week.

The Brett Rakuson team hit the ice running, while the Wayne Wyton foursome stumbled out of the blocks, as Rakuson curled to a convincing 10–1 victory.

The Forest Drinnan team showed no rust from the missed week as they did not allow the Primo Secco team to score.  Make the final 11–0 Drinnan after six.

Team Serge Pasquali took the overall lead in the second session with a decisive win over the  Coke Koyanagi foursome.  Leading 10-0 after three ends, Pasquali coasted to a 14–6 win over Koyanagi.

In a back and forth game, team Murray Walsh pulled off three in the fifth end over Clare Coleman.  The Coleman team fought back and made it close in the seventh end, only to come up short in an 8-6 loss to Walsh in the eighth.

Harvey Handley looked to keep pace with the leaders in the standings and needed a win over the Tom Hall foursome, a feat he has not accomplished in five years.  The Handley side took a three in the fifth to break open a tight game and rode that to a 6–5 victory.

Team Dan “the Grinch” Horan faced Jim Stewart’s foursome.  Stealing four of his total six points, Horan kept the pressure on Stewart all game only allowing Stewart to score in two ends.  Make the final 6–3 for Horan.
