The Red Mountain Racers returned from their first Kootenay Zone race of the season at Whitewater with an assortment of medals and ribbons.
Skiers hit the slopes for the U12-U16 Zone Slalom Races Saturday and Sunday. The two-day, four race event saw RMR’s Jane Andison sweep the U14 division girls with first-place finishes in all four slalom races.
Meanwhile Danny Larrui Altadill won a gold and two silvers for U14, and Gavin Patterson, and Vasily Koltsov each picked up a third place finish.
U12’s Heiko Ihns raced to the top of the podium three times, and grabbed a silver to go along with his three gold medals, as Kristof Panke picked up a first place, as well as two seconds and a third-place finish for multiple podiums.
RMR’s Arina Rora also took third spot in the U16/U18/M ladies slalom.
