Trail Rec Report: Calling out potential pickleball players

Pickleball Lessons for Beginners start up the first week of April. Come out and give Pickleball a try, attend training workshops with experienced Pickleball players. Each workshop will cover the basics of the game, the equipment (which is provided), scorekeeping, and singles and doubles play. Register for one or all of these following workshops: April 6, 9-10 a.m.; April 8, 5-6 p.m.; April 14, 9-10 a.m. Must pre-register, and you get to stay and play that day with the regular program.

Squash Beginner Workshop is happening on Friday, April 5 from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. at the Trail Memorial Centre Squash Court. You will be shown the basic techniques of squash and how the game is played. This workshop is for beginners; class sizes are small so register early.

Peanut T-Ball for ages 4 to 5 starts April 8 to May 27, Monday’s from 4:15 to 5 p.m. at the Willi Krause Fieldhouse. This is a fun program designed to introduce your child to the basic fundamentals of baseball. Skills that will be taught include hitting, catching and throwing. Parent participation is encouraged. Bats and balls are provided; please bring a glove.

Baseball Skills for ages 6 to 10 runs April 8 to May 27, Monday’s from 5 to 5:45 p.m. This program offers an introduction to baseball and will strengthen your skills in hitting, catching, throwing and running bases. The emphasis is on fun.

The Mothers Unite Garage Sale is happening on Saturday, April 13 at the Trail Memorial Centre Gym from 10 a.m. to noon. The gym will be turned into a giant indoor garage sale for all items suitable for children from newborns to 12 year olds. Come out and shop some fantastic deals. Or, if you would like to sell items, then book a table for only $10 each and turn those gently used items into cash! Call early to register a table as space fills up fast. .
