“And the times, they are a-changin’”

Over the last couple of weeks, I have heard several comments about a “mini-boom” that will result from development projects such as the Waneta Dam expansion project, the expansion at Firebird Technologies in Trail, the new casino in Castlegar and some recovery in the forestry sector.

Steelworkers locals 9705 and 1-405 have been trying to negotiate a new contract with nine branches of Kootenay Savings Credit Union since November of 2010. The only substantial issue outstanding from these negotiations is pension.

On Jan. 12, , the School District 20 PAC (with representatives from Trail, Warfield, Rossland, and Castlegar present), discussed and exchanged ideas on how the board of education could work in a more cooperative and respectful fashion for the benefit of the entire district.

Over the past several weeks, I have read many NDP attacks against the economic policies of our current Conservative government (tax cuts, etc.).

The next premier probably won’t be selected by cats and dogs signed up as Liberal party members.

As Valentine’s Day looms large again, I am feeling pressured to perform.

The recent City of Rossland newsletter about the Columbia Avenue and Washington Street infrastructure project should have been titled “Propagating the Myth.” The newsletter, which was not approved by council, contains many misleading statements.
